My friend Michele Pantera , has started a monthly craft class. She had the idea that if she hosted a craft class once a month, then at the end of the year each person could have 12-24 handmade crafts to give as gifts at Christmas. I thought it was a spectacular idea. I love doing crafts, but the problem is that when you do them on your own you have to buy way more than needed usually. With this class, we can all split the costs of buying supplies, plus we learn a new craft and have fun hanging out with friends.
Our first class was making bead rings. We each made two types, a flower ring and a mesh bag ring. Both were fun to do and I learned a lot.
The second class we had yesterday evening, fleece hats and scarfs. We got to pick from several types of hats, then select the fleece we wanted, cut the fabric and then sew it all together. I had a lot of fun and now I know how to do it so I’ll make more of them throughout the year. I made a long hat that you can wrap around your neck and a hooded scarf. Michele is a good teacher and for all we do and learn, her prices are affordable. Thanks for the fun Michele!

This is the long hat I created. I picked a fleece with a flame pattern. I had originally intended to give it to my husband Rick as a gift, but decided it was too cool for him so I sized it for me instead (lol).
